Visa Information
Age Requirement
You must be under 45 years old at the time of invitation to apply for the visa.
Key Points:
- Age is calculated at the time of invitation, not at the time of application.
- Different age brackets are awarded different points in the points test.
- Maximum points (30) are awarded for ages 25-32.
Note: Your age at the time of invitation is locked in for your application, even if you turn 45 after receiving an invitation.
English Language Proficiency
You must demonstrate at least competent English language skills through recognized tests.
Key Points:
- Accepted tests: IELTS, TOEFL iBT, PTE Academic, and CAE
- Minimum scores required for competent English:
- IELTS: 6 in each component
- TOEFL iBT: 12 for listening, 13 for reading, 21 for writing and 18 for speaking
- PTE Academic: 50 in each component
- CAE: 169 in each component

Skilled Occupation
Your nominated occupation must be on the relevant Skilled Occupation List.
Key Points:
- Your occupation must be on the Medium and Long-term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL)
- You need a positive skills assessment from the relevant assessing authority
- The skills assessment must be valid at the time of invitation
